Unfortunately I caused some self-inflicted dissapointment by building up/envisioning it too deeply ahead of time. Fortunately, it was still a great, immersive film that took me to a different point in spacetime. A world where the supernatural is natural, yet reality still dilineated. Simple, utilitarian cinematography gave the world the limelight, doing it's job and never too much. A tight story, without holes, fluff, or distractions. Like the vikings themselves: savage yet groomed, straightforward yet otherworldly.
