Seeing Yuri sing the song that Nobuyo taught her absolutely devastated me. But, it also made me think about how love is never wasted. Their love was brief but it mattered.

I watched this because I’m a die hard Kirsten Dunst fanboy and wow, this movie doesn’t deserve her!!! Obnoxious sound mixing because didn’t you know, guns are loud! Literally like zero substance–not sure who thought we needed a film about political neutrality in 2024 when we’re all amidst growing, global fascism???
Some cool shots and cinematography because it’s a film about photographers.
Centrist liberals prob really dig this movie and think it says so much by saying close to nothing.

The entirety of theater sat in silence when this ended. Nobody stirred. Nobody got up. All ~20 of us just collectively stunned, moved, processing.
The all too familiar tale of journeying into the trans unknown. The allegory of transition as choosing to bury yourself alive. Him profusely apologizing at the end after she told him not to. The relatability of saying “sorry about before, it’s these new meds”.
