I really didn't enjoy myself whenever ruffalo was on screen. The second love interest really didn't need to be there, and was a major reason why the second act was so boring. It rescued itself somewhat when we leave the ship and run out into the mass of aliens.

Very imaginative and fun for the first 2/3. Swinton and Elba deliver good performances, and I enjoyed all the stories (has a bad story ever been told that involves sultans and djinn?)
The movie grinds to a halt when story time is over and our leads consummate their love. Their chemistry is ok, but the narrative feels completely listless. I don't care that you went to London and have lesbian MAGA neighbors and the cell towers make your head hurt. Please bring me more stories from the orient.

A movie of the senses, passion and movement. Four stories of exploitation and a desire for freedom. Ultimately, freedom triumphs. The music and frenetic camera work blew me away. Great performances featuring actors that actually look like working class Cubans. Really hard for me to choose a favorite of the four storylines, but probably the first and second.
