    This film beautifully captures the ferocity and child-like simplicity of a first love, and the frailties of the human condition in a cunning and visually comedic style. 

    Anderson depicts the plague of being born into a tumultuous and confusing world that too often denies children agency and the capacity to create autonomous decisions, uncover their own truths, and to love. The children are granted both sexuality and agency as twelve year olds thrusted into the chaos of the adults around them. 

    It’s also just hilariously sweet and made me laugh out loud. Such a pretty, pretty, film. I like it.
