This movie borrows a lot from terminator, and in turn lends A LOT to The Matrix. Have no doubt that the Wachowskis get a pass for lifting so much from this movie because they made a much better movie, but there's substantial magic to be found here nonetheless. Very beautiful settings and costumes -- a lot for history geeks to appreciate. Wonderful performances all around, and some wonderful shot compositions (as well as a few that don't work). Cool makeup and special affects. Fairly sleepy movie, without enough substance to chew on, though.
