Tried to give it a second watch but it still did not click with me. The story falls a bit flat and the characters feel underdeveloped but the pretty visuals and good music make up for it. I would've enjoyed going deeper into exploring Laputa and what happened there.

I love the part at the end of the movie when he is telling his new recruits that he would never ask them to do anything he wouldn't do himself. It's supposed to be comforting to them but we know that there is NOTHING he won't do himself. Its nice to see the bad guy win sometimes.
