Anora 2024
Watched this with a break forty minutes in, at which point, I was struggling to understand why there is hype.
And then, the film turns on its head, in a way that perhaps I should have seen coming. But, like Anora herself, I didn’t. An intelligent, sensitive film, which is nonetheless incredibly real and raw. Staggering performances - every character is vivid.
The final scene took my breath away and left me full of questions.
