  Movies about ambiguous friendships and rekindled connections are so my thing but this didn't fully do it for me. It’s not that the connection between Matt and Mara wasn't believable. It’s that Mara's relationship with her husband wasn't. Sure, the development of that relationship is not the film's priority. Still, it felt so neglected that the stakes of the mutual extramarital attraction just weren't high enough for me. Past Lives and Take This Waltz are better illustrations of a protagonist…

  I’m actually not articulate enough to describe how this film makes me feel, but very happy to get into a heated argument defending the ending (it would not be the first time).

  Last time I watched it was in a past life of sorts that I have at once left behind and still carry with me. It feels at times indiscernible from right now and at others extremely far away. 

  I started to cry from Nora’s classic NYC taxi scene…
