In between its human charm of held hand camera shots and a flurry of surrealist scene transitions, Joel becomes a man on the run from an untouchable entity; the inevitable erasing process. What a beautiful way to express the excruciating process of separating with someone who had previously completed you. The inferred eternal sunshine of a spotless, memory-wiped mind ; does ignorance of the suffering of love, loss or heartbreak equate to happiness?
