Pretty messy (in a story sense but also gore!)
Pros: felt like a campy Steven King goosebumps episode - the high points were fun! The gore was GORE but in a camp way that didn’t make me want to puke. Good dream sequences and fun camera work! They surround our people like vultures.
Beautiful film about traumatic history. Everything was touched on; the roots of mental and physical health abuse of Native Americans as well as encouraged alcoholism, stolen wealth and, of course, murder. I wanted to see DiCaprio and De Niro killed so bad. Did not feel like 3.5 hours. Very easily could’ve been expanded on as a mini series. There were a few times when I was a liiiitle lost but generally found my way back to what was going on. Time stamps probably would’ve helped my tiny brain grasp when things occurred.
