It's ironic with how compared to all the sci Fi shorts I've watched, this is the most low key "sci-fi" film but by far the most engaging I've watched at the festival.
A prime example where the script and performance is all it takes to make a great indie film. Especially taking place in one location along with the nonlinear narrative structure pulled off well. Wasn't expecting a LOTR and Portal reference of all things!

I don't think I've ever watched any Oliver Stone films beforehand and while I have my fair share of war films, this is by far the one that put me on edge the most. Even more admirable given the time it was made with a low budget and the relevance of the Vietnam War then. It strikes the perfect balance between a raw historical film and cinema. Also, I know it's obvious but Willem Dafoe is…
Showed up for Paul Rudd, stayed for Will Poulter's best performance.
This strikes the perfect balance of a film taking things seriously despite having a RIDICULOUS PLOT revolving around KILLER UNICORNS!! On top of a brilliant cast that have their moment to shine even in their deaths.

My next favorite Anti-Nazi film for the 2020s to be an extremely well connected anthology produced by Too Short was not on my bingo card.
