    Really doesn't hold up to the first one, why did they make Chris Tucker's character so much more incompetent? Concept of a plot and much less heart than the original, not big on it (lead performances are still great and carrying though).

    I came into the theater expecting nothing more than a run of the mill Kaiju beatdown flick with substance substituted for monstrous CGI. What I got was a shockingly emotional journey of self-discovery and healing through the eyes of a broken man, IN ADDITION TO the awesome Kaiju destruction scenes. Never did I expect myself to be analyzing themes in a Godzilla movie, but damn was this good. A treat for Godzilla fans and good movie fans alike.
