My friend once asked me what does Jianghu mean. Jianghu literally means rivers and lakes in Chinese. To me it something so grand, emotional and poetic just like Chinese poems. It’s less about having an exact definition but painting a hand scroll that expands endlessly, in which intertwined with violence, hate, love, friendship and youth. But I guess this film can be a less abstract answer to my friend’s question. Dragon Inn is the Jianghu.
