Manchester by the Sea 2016
One of the most honest depictions of grief I have ever seen. The emotional grip it had over me is indescribable and its unapologetic existence is inspiring. Everything from the length of the film, near lack of music, uncomfortable dialogue, odd cuts, and moral ambiguousness is on purpose; this film just works.
