I went into this completely blind and had no idea what awaited me in the last 10 minutes. I feel bad for anyone who isn't as fortunate. Largely an exercise in filmic edging for an hour before slamming the insanity knob to 11 and I'm very much here for it.

Witchhammer 1970
Witchhammer isn't a pleasant watch, but it's tremendously well-made. The attention to visual detail is stunning throughout. Features the best villain-getting-a-massage-from-henchman scene you will ever find.

MadS 2024
I feel like mediocre movies got really overhyped in the horror sphere this year. In light of that, MadS is a breath of fresh air, a movie that will get people talking AND is worth seeing. Truly impressive technically, without sacrificing aesthetics or frights to the gimmick. One phenomenal scare towards the end is my horror moment of the year, for sure.
