  I thought it had some hysterical bits but overall was a forgettable nothing-movie to me. In one of the few earnest scenes there is a quick joke that cheapens the whole moment. Perhaps I expected something that felt more personal about womanhood from a greta gerwig flick but instead it felt like I was at high school public speaking. It plainly explains womanhood so broadly.   What??? I checked the Letterboxd page for Hustlers (a much better film) and Sean Baker had left it a disappointed review 5 years ago. Many films about sex work participate in and implicate the audience in the same voyeurism and overturn the fantasy with the darkness of the subject’s reality. Some do the balance well and others not so much. While Baker creates a very sympathetic perspective with Anora he is clearly an outsider because why am I in a theatre…
