Conflicted feelings on this one so no star rating yet.
When I walked out of the theatre I was mostly thinking about how much I enjoyed this on an aesthetic level. Incredible costuming. Kooky sets and an intriguing world. Cool cinematography. Some good laughs from the audience.
But the premise, an infant’s mind in a grown woman’s body going on a journey of self-discovery that mostly involved having a lot of sex, just didn’t sit right.

One of the ugliest films I’ve ever seen. Visually. Textually. Morally. Spiritually. Nauseatingly self-serious. Deeply ironic. I was laughing more than I have in any comedy I’ve ever seen. It would have been better in almost any other medium: experimental theatre, anime, video game, anything. I had a great time. I never want to see it again.
