not sure how this one slipped by me in 2022!
was instantly captivated & blown away by the visuals of this film, every aspect of its cinematography is absolutely breathtaking - but i found its story just as gripping. very beautiful film that delivers deeply human messaging in a subversively inhuman vehicle. stellar performances all around too!

In the Mood for Love 2000
Wong Kar-Wai just knows how to write love. Nobody quite gets how to realistically depict the indistinctness of love but him. I’ve yet to see another director do it so realistically.
This movie is flawless. This is a masterclass in framing and camerawork. Fucking phenomenal and every scene pops with colour.
When “The End” came up on the screen, I burst into tears. Truly, the end had come about 20 minutes prior, but the window of hope shuts the moment the screen turns red.
A Masterpiece.
