Beautiful movie about Paul Gauguin's brief returnal from Tahiti to France.

This movie has gorgeous aesthetics (which was expected, considering that Haruhiko Shono, author of "Gadget: Past as Future", worked on it) and thought-provoking story that raises many interesting points about the problems of humanity. It's vaguely based on classic 70s anime which I haven't watched yet, so I can't compare. It was a very enjoyable watch, though I got a bit annoyed by some film editing techniques which didn't help already confusing narrative. Also perhaps I'd prefer more "grounded" ending, but they decided to went with more philosophical one.
