  as part of e-flux’s presentation of Queer Strategies and Tentacles (curated by Rosa Barotsi and Zairong Xiang), this film makes me feel complicated about the infantilization of the alien character as it relates to the theme of “passing” and queer survival.

  I saw this in person and got to hear a discussion on the film. I enjoyed learning that apparently the editor didn’t know the storyline at all, and then recreated the storyboard shot for shot, essentially by accident. Amazing!
