I finally got around to rewatching this.

My thoughts on this movie have changed somewhat but they haven’t shifted entirely like I expected they would on a second watch.

When I compare this to other Nolan films that I’ve seen, excluding the superhero films, I find that (CURRENTLY) this film lacks an emotional centre.

Is this a groundbreaking, cinematic masterpiece of storytelling on a character, period of time, and a historical event? Yes.
    Was I emotionally invested like I am…

Wow. Finally finished LOTR after all these years of putting it off.
Wish I had the extended versions available but that’ll be for next time!

The thing that stands out in this series is two things: the emotional highs and the score.
Together they create some of the most phenomenal moments in cinema and that’s why I think this has survived as the best fantasy world for so long.

Loved this from start to end.

    Wow.

One of the most amazing animated films I’ve seen to date.

The combination and changing of art styles throughout is gorgeous.

And I am a sucker for a well done character theme, especially a villainous one.
Death’s theme in this movie is up there with my favourites. Ever!

The story was yet another simple, but magnificent one.

A really good experience. I would highly recommend this movie.

After all the online talk I’ve seen that was praising this movie as great, I’m left a little underwhelmed.

I don’t want to mislead anyone, this was a good movie by normal standards. Al Pacino really shines in this movie and he’s the best part of the movie for me. And as for a some of these 90s movies, the acting is carrying a lot of the weight. But from a lot of “movie buffs” saying amazing things about this…
