  crafting asian motherhood as a source of resilience and unconditional love while perpetuating its control and power. it’s intimidating how evelyn’s power only grows with her constant verse jumping - she is insatiable and almost impeccable. the ending seems more like a facile victory born out of a desperate grasp. one of the worst approaches to reconciliation, yet it unfolds in ways that aligns with the film’s narratives. very standardized storytelling and not too much surprises. it’s clear who this movies intended to impress
