The novel by Ishiguro is brilliant. However, this film is very unsuccessful in conveying the book. The actors are dull and their acting is mediocre. Overall, the film is just undistinguished and does no justice to the book.

the music is great though more variation would be appreciated. I feel a lack of emotional connection to the main characters due to inadequate character development and not enough in depth about the protagonists. The film takes too much shortcuts in trying to portray the love Geneivere and Guy which prevented me from thinking "what if" at the end.
