  how is this a kids' Halloween movie. Listen if I saw this when I was 6 I would have been absolutely terrified you would not have been able to prise me off my parents' bed where I cling to like a desperate sad little limpet. I am not 6, but I got scared way too much by this.

  the little sister is very cute though and makes up for the annoying pile of trash that is her brother

  idc if this is a cliche movie I love so much of it. Singapore's night markets, the dumpling folding scene, Araminta's wedding. And I know it's even more of a cliche to say "representation matters!" which is ironic considering this shows the top 1% but representation of South Asian culture makes me go <33
  Yes it displays excessive luxury and exuberance but it also emphasizes the value of "family" which is at the core of Chinese culture, regardless of classicm.…
