  You dream in a language that I can’t understand

  I love that this movie is quiet, but not still. Nora and Hae Sung’a relationship is defined by its lacunae: words unsaid, feelings unexpressed, farewells unarticulated. The scenes all 3 main characters share are sparse - almost even awkward. The near silent reunion in the park, the language barriers between Arthur and Hae Sung, the stumbling silences of buffering Skype calls. Dialogue is thin and pauses are pregnant; the camera lingers…

  I’m so glad this exists (and excited there are 2 more).

  I loved that every scene was a setting and a conversation, and thought the montage at the end with each location the next day, now empty but impressed with the memory of Celine and Jesse’s one-night connection, was brilliant.

  - Church (old lady with memories vs. young boy taking notes) 
  - Restaurant (fake phone calls as vehicle to share feelings)
  - Alley pallet (Celine popping off on the meaning of life)
