  All that controversy and "discourse" over a movie that's just...pretty good. It's entertaining and grim without being thought-provoking or transgressive. I feel like certain comic book characters such as Joker and Batman are a bit played out at this point, so the main draw for me here was Joaquin. He's reliably committed and captivating, and the movie looks great. The nighttime city scenes in particular are beautiful and textured.
