Possibly the best performance I’ve seen Oscar Isaac give. And that’s saying a lot given I think he’s one of the best actors of his generation.

Foe 2023
Great premise, flawed execution. Despite that, I think it had a chance at being re-watchable had it not dragged on for so long after the plot twist is revealed. I feel like if you want a memorable plot twist, don’t attempt to add more layers to the plot thereafter. Just find a way to succinctly wrap things up so that the twist remains fresh in the mind once the credits roll.

Great film. One of the things I loved the most about it was the dialogue. It prioritized authenticity, and as a result, the film felt wonderfully organic. A pet peeve of mine is when screenwriters prioritize cleverness over realism and shove irony down your throat instead of utilizing it subtly.
