    What a career start this was...a bit more raw than the latter WKW's, but that suits it well. Triads meet romance in a visually stimulating world with heavy heavy 80s vibes and synths. The plot is surely not the best WKW has written, but the characters are a bit more taken back which I appreciate. In the end it's a strange but fantastic mix of surreal action and locations that still feels genuine in a way, realistic even? Very interesting that he also shows do much of the province, which adds another nice geographical layer.

    I thorougly enjoyed this epic from the overture (plus 1 point just for having that, though short) via each shot in beautiful VistaVision to the epilogue which adds another layer of depth and simple explanation that serves as ex post fubdament of the impressive building this film is.
    So much unlike other overlong films of these days, Brutalist is not trying to tell everything but focuses in the end on one crucial project of this gifted architect. We start with…
