  “yeah half the dialogue is just unfiltered racially charged caricature but once you get past that it’s a masterpiece” 

  I had to turn that shit off an hour in I could not hack another two. And I don’t really care for the “it’s of it’s time” perspective- if it’s not historically accurate then it’s taking artistic liberty to portray a message, but the message is kinda just “the people of North Africa are unintelligent barbarians”. Was the screenwriter incapable of writing anyone who isn’t English as a real person? Or does their strengths lie in writing ‘little people, silly people’?
