  one of the many reminders that i am in fact getting older is that filmmakers are now around my age and are pulling reference from mid-aughts for their coming of age stories. the screensaver, older sister who’s into paramore, the facebook/myspace duality, aol messenger - im a sucker for a movie that uses contemporary artifacts seamlessly. while fairly straightforward, this movie speaks my language in a way that made my feel comfortable while allowing me to explore a world that, while not my own, i could be easily see being the life a kid in my own high school
