  Profoundly true. It's not a film, It's an experience, engulfing the viewer in an incredible portrait of life. Of people who are lost, who look for hope, who find their 'saviour'. It is with these people that anyone can connect on the fundamental level. And it's that virtue that makes this work a masterpiece.

  it's excessive, but it's excessiveness I wholeheartedly appreciate. why? because it's purposeful. some may argue this may have easily been a short film, but I disagree. such an experiment of length is a difficult watch in terms of retention, however if you allow yourself to give in, consequentially you are brought closer to an understanding of the world the boy himself inhibits. it is for such very pursuits of truths that excessiveness is needed.

  WTF WAS THAT, absolutely stunned. 

  I may give 5 stars on a re-watch, but forgive me, was tired after my mini Dekalog Marathon and simply closed my eyes for a few moments.

  but full praise to Kubrick after seeing this, rarely does a film make me feel in this particular way, just completely allured by the magic of film.

  the first half of the film was dull and slow, but with the 2nd half the pacing got better and it did become much more fun.
