Taxi Driver 1976
Taxi driver is a cinema masterpiece. Scorsese depicts mental health and loneliness in the corrupt state of N.Y.C like nobody else. From the smoothing jazz opening score, to the wrecked blood shed, massacre scene at the finale is a film like no other (ignoring all the shameless rip offs attempted). This could be my favourite leading performance by Robert De Niro. He plays a very different character to what he’s use to. He’s an idiot, an outcast, rejected by society.…
