Personally, I like movies that end with a concrete or explicit uplifting or hopeful moment, but the ending of this one put the responsibility on the viewer to ponder what comes next for the characters (which it intended to do).
However, the acting, plot, writing/dialogue, and cadence at which the progressed was all superb, and it was easy to get hooked once the plot started moving (a slow start but moved fast once it picked up). I can see why it won best picture (I haven’t seen any other 2025 nominees yet so I can’t compare lol).
