The Death of Stalin 2017
Perfectly fine satire highlighting the stupidity of those in power. Considering some of the talent in the cast though, Simon Russell Beale who I’d never heard of before watching this basically steals the film.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 1989
Never has the importance of chemistry between co-stars been so brilliantly exemplified by Ford and Connery here. The perfect sequel to ‘Raiders’ that goes some way to making me forget whatever they were doing with Temple of Doom.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 1984
Realised half way through why I’d put this off for so long. I heard this was a huge step down from Raiders but I didn’t expect it so be such a slog.
There’s so sense of adventure this time around, the humour comes off as more slapstick, and the newly introduced characters are written as mere caricatures. It’s saved from being a total mess by Ford’s charisma and some decent set-pieces.

Little Women 2019
It never feels like the energy lets up once this starts which is amazing considering I usually find period pieces to be quite bland and formulaic. Every scene feels like a photograph come to life, every character is conversing with another regardless of whether they’re in frame or not. There’s conversations ongoing constantly and scenes feels so alive and authentic.
Greta Gerwig has such a gift for directing her actors to show a side of their true selves in the characters they play, which makes everything even more engrossing to watch.
