Apocalypse Now 1979
Nearly a perfect film. Historically accurate in so many ways (although Charlie does indeed surf), thrilling, funny, and downright horrifying at times, but is let down by Coppolas insistence on making directors cut after directors cut. I watched the Final Cut my first time around and fell sleep twice before finishing it.
If you can watch the theatrical release I couldn’t recommend enough, if you’re struggling to sleep watch any of the other ones.
