  Ghost in the Shell 1995

  Why am I not as big on this as I would assume I’d be? Whenever I watch it I just don’t find the story as grabby as I’d like. Maybe decades of cyberpunk and media inspired by this have made me expect something more complicated. 
  Still, visually stunning, and great to put on late at night as I did.

  lotta star energy on the main dude. there’s a big, stylized choice at the climax (you’ll know it when you see it) that I think you could lift right out, but I liked it a bunch overall

  Watched the 1:50 cut entitled The Hatchet Murders on Tubi. Quite good, but on a rewatch will seek out the longer Italian cut.
