I actually liked the cathartic aspect of this movie but it was a bit hard to follow the supernatural aspects as well as the dream sequences, thought there was one or two too many. Im just glad it wasn’t another typical blumhouse jump scare flick

Death of a Unicorn 2025
Saw this at AMC Empire 25. Great NYC experience. As far as the movie goes though it was just a little too overt. The plot and themes are literally spoiled through exposition pretty early on and it kind of loses its thrill and mysticism given the title and its contents. It becomes pretty straightforward, still worth a watch nonetheless imo.
Also Will Poulter plays another variation of his character from Midsommar😁
Funny that I also caught that Ari Aster was also an executive producer too.

My 2nd viewing and I can say with certainty that I think this film is a perfect illustration and embodiment of what I would call a blumhouse film(yes I know that there have also been some great movies that they’ve backed)it becomes incredibly clear that this studio has a similar film mantra or method- “play it safe and entertain” akin to the marvel formula, geared towards broad audiences.
