This is thankfully one movie that's just as great as i remember it. Heath Ledger gives a career standout performance as the Joker, becoming an iconic representation of an already iconic character. Even today, this movie is still inspiring similar comic book movies to follow in its path, but none could ever compare. This movie combines great writing, incredible practical effects, great performances from everyone involved, and a dark, fast-paced plot that just continually raises the stakes as the story goes along. Perfect; as much as I like Marvel, none of those movies ever came anything close to this.

I could honestly write a thesis on how much I love this movie. Robert De Niro plays this characters perfectly, from the glassy haven’t-slept-in-days look in his eyes, to the subtle sadness in the way he speaks, every bizarre, socially inept mannerism he employs does nothing but enrich the character.
