    September 5

While we've seen many movies like September 5 such as Argo (2012) and Spotlight (2015), though not really extraordinary, it is far from disappointing and does a great job in many ways. The performances and screenplay are superb, and the storytelling is great. However, these strengths alone do not suffice to elevate it to the level of an extremely memorable or iconic movie.

It shocks me to know that a movie as beautiful, daring, and innovative as Nickel Boys is one of the least talked about this Oscar season. Every scene is filled with very few details, and every shot expresses different emotions; however, each of those scenes and shots are extremely important to the context of the movie. While it's risky to create a project like this, such risks are essential for making truly remarkable movies.

This movie cuts you like a knife. It’s like if you’re dreaming a beautiful dream and then somebody wakes you up and punches you in the face. Not only the movie itself is extremely important, but it’s beautiful as well.

Seriously, Schindler’s List is an easy watch if you compare it to this one. The last scenes are honestly traumatizing. The performances are GREAT. No complaints about this movie at all. Easily one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen. Watching Come and See is a moment you’ll never forget.

The legendary queer playwright and screenwriter Tennessee Williams once said “A line can be straight, or a street, but the human heart, oh, no, it’s curved like a road through mountains”. Jane Campion’s first movie as a director in 12 years perfectly understands this quote.

The Power of the Dog depicts the life of a closeted man who is angry and frustrated about his life and takes his…
