  “Terrible and Beautiful”

  Many of the characters portrayed are not necessarily good people, they do terrible things to each other. Yet that is the beauty of human nature, each of us fickle like the weather of Iceland.

  I went to a Q&A with the director/writer. This film was described as being incredibly personal to the director. This intimacy with the land, actors, animals is very evident. I came away from watching with a strong sense of humility in comparison to the power of nature and also a lot of respect for Icelanders.
