The Return of the King 1980
If you have something bad to say about this movie I will personally cast you into the fires of Mount Doom with no second thought. The soundtrack is perfect, the animation is adorable, Aragorn is there, Legolas and Gimli are not mentioned at all, and Eomér just stays back and looks hot the entire film. I wish that there had been a Fellowship and Two Towers (the Bakshi does not count) to match the perfection of this movie.

Zack Snyder really hasn’t grown at all, has he? It’s a good thing I didn’t see this when I was 14 and thought that Reagan was the shit. I probably would have worshipped Rorschach. The whole vibe of the movie reminded me of this guy that one of my friends used to date right before she met her fiancée.

You know every single Dave Filoni show that has that episode where the farmers get raided by bandits and then they beg the hungry/noble warrior to help them and then the warrior teaches them to fight and then “the victory truly belongs to the peasants”? Also Pale Rider? Kind of Return of the Jedi? That episode of Firefly? And probably a bunch of other movies? This is the three hour version with seven honorable dudes. Six. Five and half. I’m adding this to my Sunday Afternoon Nap list, but with anticipation of the next rainy Sunday.
