Was a bit nervous watching this with my homosexual roommate. Luckily our milkshakes arrived on time to keep our lips distracted for the remainder of the film.

The Brutalist 2024
As a fellow immigrant struggling to find my place in America, with my wife still in Europe and realising that perhaps the American dream isn't all it's cracked up to be, I found this incredibly relatable and hard hitting. Having talents recognised at home but yet over here they seem to go unappreciated, instead forced to work dead end jobs to make ends meet. It all resonated with me. Also very moving! And strange sometimes... but beautifully shot and great acting.

Watched this again, last time I was 8. I'm not an emotional man (undiagnosed autism), but lord this one hits. Who knew so much heartache, pain and aspiration could come out of a humble mining town in Durham (under the fielty of Lord Lampton).
