I went into this thinking it would be a modern take on Death Becomes Her with more body horror and commentary on modern beauty standards.
It quickly sets up the Death Becomes Her premise but then allows the social commentary to take itself completely off the rails.
It is so visceral you feel like you're experiencing everything the main characters are. This is helped all the more by the close up cinematography. That captures every detail.

Good direction which is good from a directorial debut but the flim overall and the plot seems to be a few years behind the curve of the cultish psycho drama murder mystery genre.
One of if not Scorsese's most powerful films. With tour de force lead performance's lending a weight and sincerity to a grave subject matter.
At times the direction can seem like a departure from Scorsese's pervious work but this only serves to give the Osage people the respect they finally deserve.
