    The Football Factory

    ★★½

Laddish, shallow and predictable. Nick Love's football and fighting comedy-drama is best left in the DVD collections of blokes who never quite saw anything outside their home towns. Not even the stellar collection of Burberry and Stone Island garments on screen can turn this into something stylish.

Despite a few guilty pleasures popping up (mainly Danny Dyer being well...Danny Dyer) The Football Factory looks incredibly dated less than 20 years since release, and really offers nothing about the socio-economical causes that lead us to gang violence other than "its just a bit of a laugh."

Aneesh Chaganty's social media mystery thrives despite it's unorthodox composition. What feels like an uncomfortable style (the film is shown entirely through screens - MacBooks, iPhones, CCTV footage - you name it) becomes quickly adaptive as the story of quiet teenager Margot's disappearance in Northern California twists, turns and astounds.

John Cho, who most of you will remember for pissing from a balcony in American Pie, turns out a compelling and natural performance as desperate father David Kim, and despite the somewhat CSI ending, Searching is one that will please viewers with its storytelling.

Following the success of Amy, Asif Kapadia seems to have crafted the art of presenting controversial or larger than life personalities for what they really are - human, and never before seen…

An extremely in-depth look at the production and promotion of Black Sabbath's best album. Casual listeners may find themselves bored, but for the avid fan, every second is pure gold.
