  It might help that I'm already a fan of Godzilla movies and the Disaster/monster genre as a whole. That being said, holy heck this film gives you everything you might want from it. It's poignant, exciting, emotional and absolutely rad. As my roommate Kevin put it, it's very effective in giving a point of view of criticizing how the Japanese government approached WWII, something no other Godzilla film has really reckoned with.
