  It's funny that three or four years ago I would've panned this movie entirely, but now, as a father, certain moments in this film really resonated with me.

  I found Braddock's struggles early on in the film between his own pride and the practicality of sending his kids away to a safer, more financially stable situation to be particularly heartbreaking (though not necessarily helped by the acting of Russell Crowe).
