Arguably the best adaptation of a novel I’ve ever seen. Just perfect. Was the largest blind spot in my watchlist of westerns.
Someone on here calls this “Cowboy Lord of the Rings” and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to shake that comparison. Call and Gus probably did go farther than the Fellowship.
I enjoyed this. Seemed like it didn’t know if it wanted to be more serious or over the top, but I really love the stars in this movie and it was fun watching them enhance what’s a pretty familiar action movie template.
Celebrating two years on Letterboxd with one of my favorite movies I discovered after joining. You’ll never be able to convince me that Superman Returns is anything other than an amazing movie.
I don't have the time or the energy right now to write my complete thoughts on how much I enjoyed this movie. I'll save that for my review of my second viewing. Suffice it to say that I was totally blown away. The Star Wars mythology was expanded in incredible ways, and Rogue One showed just how versatile the Star Wars franchise is. I saw things in this movie I thought I would NEVER see. This superfan is totally satisfied.
By the way: I got to see the premiere of a Star Wars movie on my birthday. I couldn't have received a better present than this!
