    Honestly I feel some of the reviewers here on Letterboxd either just slam one star scores onto everything fluffy, doubly so if it's a made for Netflix film.

    It's the first of the new Full Moon "noir" films but at its heart it's still a Charles Band film through and through with a nonsensical plot with characters that make stupid decisions on a whim, acting that swings wildly between hammy and serious and relationships that go from "barely know each other" to "completely reliant on each other" in a short space.

    Unfortunately it also seems that Band has a new toy in his warehouse and that being AI…

    This film is funny, silly and full of life though the ending is a real rush job that harms the film overall.

    Also why is the film so insistent that John Cheese's character is a big evil villain who deserves to be ruined? Dude made a race, allowed generally fair betting on it and didn't interfere once. Very weird.

    Goldeneye was brilliant and genre defining so naturally there was always likely to be a slight dip in quality but good lord this film is less of a dip and more of a nosedive. Its not awful but dear lord theres a lot of boring moments in this film that just cause it to sink.

    Lets concentrate on the good first though. Thunderball has a cracking introductory song sung by the boomtastic Tom Jones. Next on the good list is…
