It’s strange watching this movie after seeing AI systems pass the Turing Test in real life. Watching it for the first time now, I instinctively assumed the robots were mimicking consciousness but not actually conscious. I’m not sure what I would have thought seeing it in 2014, before witnessing machines I’m pretty confident aren’t conscious nevertheless pass the Turing test, but it seems like my whole experience of the movie would have been different
