I'm Still Here 2024
Really admirable choice to stay with the family so long at the start that makes the devastation of the loss feel all the greater.
Incredible use of 35mm and 16mm film particularly with the use of colour separating the home and the regime. Really wonderful underexposure at times as well.
The film does feel slightly toothless at the end though.

Gene Hackman is brilliant. Loved the piecing together of the conversation and how the cadence of one particular word can throw you off entirely.

Whilst the bear stuff is fun the rest of the movie feels like someone gave an AI the prompt 80s horror bear drugs and it then spat out the most bland generic characters and plot you have ever seen. I genuinely cannot remember a single characters name. Not one. Other than Cocaine Bear. That one is kinda hard to forget.
